Kuwait’s History
At the beginning of the seventeenth century, Kuwait was established as a small fishing village with a very low-scale population. But with time, at the end of the eighteenth century, Kuwait’s position began to flourish, becoming a significant trading and boat-building point. In 1756, the Al-Sabah family took up the power to rule over Kuwait, which is prolonged till today. Kuwait became independent in 1961 from all rules, and Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah from the Al-Sabah family became emperor, now considered National Day in Kuwait. The first holiday in the Calendar was marked on the 19th of June as Kuwait National Day that year. The British protected the country against the invasion by the Turks in the same year. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah played a significant and vital role in Kuwait’s independence; he is considered the leading person for this public holiday in Kuwait. At the end of Feb. 2018, Kuwait ranked 78th on the Corruption Perceptions Index, advancing by seven compared to its 85 spots in 2017, Transparency International indicated in its CPI.
Kuwait’s Progress & Development
The Emir of Kuwait is working hard to make this country a significant economic port and a source of democracy worldwide. He approved the development plans to build main projects promoting Kuwait, turning it into a global financial and commercial center for investment and income resources for a bright future. He also stressed the nation’s unity and solidarity. Spreading love and tolerance among the people is the key to the development in which they are succeeding so far. Since the day of its independence, Kuwait has treaded the roads of progress and prosperity, which are based on friendship, peace, and cooperation. It has also been working hard to manage people’s basic needs at the international level.
Happy Kuwait National Day
Most countries celebrate their National Day on which they got independence, but due to extreme heat on 19th June in Kuwait, the National Day of Kuwait is now marked as dated 25th Feb from 1963. People in Kuwait celebrate this day by going to different places, including fireworks at night, gathering with friends, and more. This day is marked as a holiday in Kuwait, so everyone is prepared to enjoy it to the best of their ability. Kuwait and the British have been friends for a long time. The Iraqi government took advantage of the release of Kuwait from British protection as a chance to take complete control. However, since the British military still protects Kuwait at some stages, they need British support in emergencies.

Kuwait, my country, may you be safe and glorious!
May you always enjoy good fortune!
You are the cradle of my ancestors,
Who put down its memory.
With everlasting symmetry, showing all eternity,
Those Arabs were heavenly,
Kuwait, my country,
May you be safe and glorious!
May you always enjoy good fortune.
Blessed be my Country a homeland for harmony,
Warded by true sentry giving their soils aptly,
Building high its history, Kuwait,
My country, we’re for you my Country,
Led by faith and loyalty,
With its Amir equally,
Fencing us all fairly, with warm love and verity,
Kuwait, my country,
May you be safe and glorious.
May you always enjoy good fortune!
